Ah, spring! A little less than a month away, the season of April showers and May flowers is nearly upon us. Time to sweep out the old and dusty memoirs in the attic and make room for the new things that will inevitably become old and dusty in their place (okay, perhaps that’s just me).
It’s a wonderful feeling to clean out the unused or discarded and tidy up what you hadn’t even realised you had made a mess of. The birds are singing through the green trees. Flowers are in full and vibrant bloom. And love seems to quite literally accost so many of us this time of year.
Let’s be honest here. New relationships are pretty amazing. Two individuals exploring each others chemistry and discovering one another’s goals and dreams is frankly nothing short of awesome to me, and like the memoirs in the attic, this new relationship requires some special attention.
Dejectedly, however, most of these relationships wind up collecting dust after a while and the sparks of interest gently simmer to the embers of old flames. But like those old forgotten things in the attic, there is still hope for the lovelorn.
The hope of keeping your new or existing relationship genuine and open just as it had begun. The possibility of new and exciting meetings indefinitely is quite appealing to some, while others rediscover the antiques from the past and enjoy them as wholly new experiences.
No matter what your preference is, try not to let your relationship become old and dusty on you. Make the time to enjoy your chosen guy or gal and keep your lives as innovative and impulsive as possible.
May Cupid’s arrow find its mark with you and your lover this spring and I hope you enjoy one another’s company for many spring cleanings to come.
